Sean and I have been teaming up for over a year now. We have always gone dark elf and
lizards despite the penalty we take during the magic phase. This year’s Adepticon dropped the lists
by 200 points a side but allowed for a single lord. This mix up, combined with the new dark elf and lizardman
books saw us doing some restructuring, though Sean’s list ended up fairly
close. We were both limited by
what we were bringing for the 2400 event.
My list, seems to be pulled from the part of the list that wasn’t pulled
for my 1000 point list. This is in
part due to the list restrictions Imposed by Adepticon. Sean wanted to take the dawnstone on his
general, which meant that I couldn’t take it on mine. So I decided to go for the multi-wound character instead of
the strength character and compensate by taking a lance on the master.
Unlike the 1000 point singles event, I expect to see more level 4s. At only 1000 points, a level 4 caster
is a good amount of points and leaves holes. At 2000 points, a level 4 only leaves holes in one
contingent, allowing the second contingent to build to fill those holes. Therefore, I felt that both spirit
leech and a dispel scroll were worth the investment. This cost me a both thrower and the magic items on the
master (along with a doomfire warlock, which is fine as the caster will take
its place in the unit).
Like last year, I’m sure Sean’s army will end up taking the brunt of
the enemy as mine works its way around and gets into the hot, point scoring
positions. We’ll see how it goes,
I think Sean has only played 3 games since last year’s adepticon, but at least
those 3 games where with the new book.
I also will have played 3 games with this book, the day before in the
1000 point event.
