Hobby Project – Display Board – Assembly Day 10

Streaky paint, thats the key. I even let the little dried bits stay. Little like boards with nots?  Tomorrow I will matte spray and then Im ready for the next session with the board itself. I think the plan is to install the buildings and start the texture.

I also started building the Bones Nethyrmial model. It did not go together well. Will need a lot more gap work that the last one, maybe even actual sculpting. Still needs tail and I havent glued to the base, though he'll probably keep his.

Dwarven Forge Kickstarter

So ive contributed to a few kickstarters. Reaper Bones I was the first to arrive and as of today Dwarven Forge is the second. I was lucky to have been selected in the test shipping phase.

Instad of finishing the floor for my terrain project this evening like i was supposed to, i unpacked and played with the new toy. I got the 5 pack and the pictures show nearly every piece taking up a standard folding table. Easy enough to fill a 4x4 for mordheim or something, though I plan to mainly donate them for the use of my D&D group.

Three angles of the board I made, making it up as I went.

Here are the fillings before I added them.

And inside

Hard to see what all is there because if the black on black. Initially i didnt think i was going to paint them, but perhaps the fillings do need some love. I have a few painters in my D&D group so perhaps I can get some donated time to help as it will improve everyone's experience.

Oh, and either it was missing a chair or I already lost one. Says there should be 4 but I definatly only found 3 to put down.

So far I am very happy with the product, though the tote they provided to store it all is so insufficient to be funny. I will have to pick up some small tubs for transport.

Hobby Project – Display Board – Assembly Day 9

After a few days off for Infernal Zoo (currently being drafted and forthcoming at the end of the month or so), its back to the terrain. For the weekend I need to finish painting the warpstone on the caster, the book and floor and the walls of the room. So hopefully that is what i will hopefully give you this week.

After an afternoon of painting , from that list I accomplished…

Greying the room

I intentionally didnt make the color even or solid as I wanted to provide some texture when observed through the windows.

Gave the warpstone a little internal glow

And some colors on the book and stabd.

Needs a little writing.

I needed a break from the painting so I cleaned up some mold lines and gluedtogether my Cthulhu from the first reaper bones. While I got the entire vampite level 100+ models, its the big models I really wanted. Ill probably try to sell off most of the little models.

Guy's wings are like the height of the second story of the building. I didnt glue him to the base. Im thinking I will take off the rock part of the base and put it and him on a base to match my skaven army. Maybe use him as a monster in a future Davis event.

He needs a little liquid green stuff at tge joins.
