Hobby Update - Finally Painting

The Woes of Weather
So I havent painted this month and that puts me a weekish behind. The rain has been preventing me from spraying primer. Last night there was a break in the storms so I rushed home from work.
I got outside and got a few models primmed and started losing pressure. Clean the cap, shook it some more, no good.
Then i noticed some gunky stuff on the can. Assuming it was from the environment i wiped it away. Suddenly, i hear a hissing and these white puffs start coming out of the spot i cleaned.
There was a hole in the spray can!
Concerned there might be secondary issues with uncontrolled pressure loss, like exploding (unlikely), I trash the can versus trying to save with tape.
Hopefully I can grab some on my way home and spray tonight. Friday night and saturday have been set aside for some buckling down.
Still nada for the bolt thrower. i may just end up using that ogre.

Hobby Update - Hobby Wobbles?
So originally I was going to make a bolt thrower out of bits extra from other kits, such as the screaming bell.
Unfortunately, that technology-based conversion does not match the beast theme of my dark elves. So I reconsidered. Searching through my back kits I found the Scyla kit.
Ive decided to convert him up to be throweing a bolt, or spear. This will of course making much bigger than the other bolt throwers that I put into my army. But I think that will be okay.
As I got the kit out to put it together my favorite part was even in the pictures for use as instructions, Games Workshop didn't bother to fill in the gaps.
Should make putting it together interesting.
I know they say you dont need to pin fail cast, but better safe that ruined model that puts all its weight on one joint.
While I was at it I might as well pin all the major joints.
More power drill and the spear is coming along.
The cap is a drilled out warpstone chunk from the plague monk and the spear tip from dragon ogres that will eventually see a conversion of their own.
Before I put it all together I showed that chaos star a little knife love to make it into a skaven symbol.

Hobby Update - Riders Done
Now on to the bolt thrower, which will just be a simple conversion.
Here are some pics of the finished riders.
WaaaghPACA! - Wrap-Up
What a blast! I may have
had an even better time than last year.
I ended up with a 3-1-1, and 8th place (take that Domus – who
bet me 100 he would be ahead of me and then lost on tiebreaker – and didn’t
pay, hehe). In the end I missed 3
paint points (advanced painting, 5 player votes and the one point that only the
paint winner can get), 4 sports points (only getting 1 favorite game) and 6
battle points (4 in round 3’s loss, 1 point in round 4 tie and a missed
objective in round 1). No complaints.
The High Elves will see some shelf time. I might bust them out again should the Davis players run
their monster themed Infernal Zoo, though I will have to come up with someone
besides Brood Horrors (I have ideas).
High Elves– 4w/1l/1d
Singles – 4w/1l/1d
Overall – 4w/1l/1d
