This will be my last event with the old Dark Elf book. I hope I can end on a rise. 2012 was my first North Star and I had
a blast, walking away with Top Skaven.
I’m not bringing the skaven back in the list, but I am in spirit. The event is a weird amount at
2200. I feel like I have my 2500
point list well worked out, as well as my 2000 point list but found myself
struggling for the balance of the in between.
Continuing my experimentation with not using Tome of Furion, this list
sees me taking the power stone. I
tried to drop the level 2 on the metal wizard, but couldn’t squeeze out enough
other points to actually take something else I wanted to take, so it ended up
staying.

I can’t say I’m 100% happy with this list. I fear I am really going to miss the second assassin for
putting out the higher strength shots.
Unfortunately, the only way to get access to an assassin is with another
unit, and I couldn’t scrounge the points for a second unit of shades – or the
units would be too small to be effective.
You may recall that in some of my early practice I used 5 or 6 man shade
units. They die too quickly and
often before I could get a chance to reveal the assassin within. We’ll see how it goes.
